LaShonda M. Tenner, Queen Nefertiti VI of the Krewe of Nefertiti of New Orleans, Louisiana is a devoted mother to Damien Hughes Jr. and the proud daughter of Lindall and Michael Tenner. She is a dynamic Human Resources leader, Realtor, community advocate, and cultural ambassador whose mission is rooted in service, empowerment, and creating meaningful impact.

With more than 15 years of Human Resources leadership and 8 years of project management experience, LaShonda has built a career focused on developing people, strengthening organizations, and elevating excellence. She currently serves as Director of Human Resources with Allied Universal and extends her commitment to helping families through real estate as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker | Jones Premier Group.

LaShonda began her academic journey at Alcorn State University, a place that remains deeply connected to her heart. Today, she continues to pour back into students as a Board Member on the Executive Advisory Board of Alcorn State University’s Business Department. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Project Management and an Associate of Arts in Business Administration from American InterContinental University, completed the Human Resources Development Program at Kennesaw State University, and is a certified investigator through Littler Law Firm.

Her love for serving others extends far beyond her professional titles. LaShonda supports multiple charitable organizations, including the Motherless Daughters Foundation and the 50 Shades of Pink Foundation, and leads an annual multi-state Toys For Tots toy drive, collecting hundreds of toys each year to spread joy to children living in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

Culturally, she is deeply rooted in the beauty and spirit of Mardi Gras. LaShonda served as the 2024–2025 Goddess of Egypt and now reigns as the 2025–2026 Krewe of Nefertiti Queen VI. For her, Mardi Gras is more than celebration it is heritage, tradition, unity, and love. It connects her to her family, to her city, and to the legacy of powerful women in New Orleans.

When she is not serving or leading, LaShonda enjoys traveling, golfing, and bowling embracing the balance of adventure, wellness, and joy.
